Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday Readings

“This is the day the Lord had made, let us rejoice and be glad in it”.

The people, the earth, all creation sings out the praises of the Lord’s resurrection. Alleluia. He is risen as He said.

Jesus in His dying has conquered death and through His resurrection He has give us new life. This is the culmination of our Lenten journey. During Lent, we were asked to turn away from the things of the flesh and to turn back to God with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our strength. Today, the promise is renewed in our hearts. Our Baptismal promises are enlightened by the Holy Spirit. And the eternal covenant of God with His people is again renewed in our hearts.

Let us live today as if it were the first and the last day of our lives, holding nothing back and giving ourselves wholly to the Lord. Let us allow ourselves to be renewed in His suffering with the promise of joining Him in the resurrection for there is no Easter Sunday without Good Friday.

The resurrection calls us to a renewal of spirit in the Holy Spirit and it calls us to share this Good News. We proclaim Jesus Christ risen and we fulfill our mission and the mission of the Church to be missionary apostles to the whole world.

Rejoice! Rejoice! Again I say rejoice! Alleluia. Alleluia.
